The Middle Child Syndrome

The Middle Child Syndrome is said to be a consequence of birth order. The oldest of three siblings is said to be the leader while the youngest of the three is said to be the baby. The middle child is lost somewhere in between. Hence, the syndrome or the feeling of being alone and left out without proper placement in the family.

But on a positive note, experts suggest that middle children receive less attention compared to their siblings. This allows them to be independent and creative. There is also lack of expectations in their part. Hence, they develop their life skills and personality without much external constraints.
