National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day

Promoting The Urgent Need For A Vaccine To Prevent HIV and AIDS on "World AIDS Vaccine Day" observed next on 18 May

Celebrated every year on May 18, the National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is a health holiday advocating the importance of getting an HIV vaccine to prevent HIV infection and AIDs. The day encourages people to get HIV vaccine, to prevent themselves from a major disease like AIDs.

Also known as World AIDS Vaccines Day, HIV Vaccine Awareness Day was established by the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

This health awareness holiday is observed each year to appreciate the many volunteers, community members, doctors, and scientists working to develop a vaccine to prevent HIV. The day also educates people about the importance of preventive HIV vaccine research and highlights how preventive HIV vaccine can end the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
