National Panda Day is celebrated every 16th of March each year. During this day, animal lovers and conservationists dedicate their days to spending time with pandas and doing various activities related to one of the world’s cutest and most adorable, but endangered species. This day also brings together all the collective efforts of the people when it comes to restoring and protecting the habitat of pandas.

About National Panda Day

Pandas are native to China. They are members of the Bear or Ursidae family. A lot of people adore them because they look like big fluffy balls wearing a tuxedo. Their favorite meals are bamboos.

As much as people adore them, their population is rapidly shrinking primarily because of their loss of habitat. This is a major cause for concern. Pandas are now considered an endangered species. The World Wide Fund for Nature approximates that there are only about 1,864 pandas living in the wild and approximately 100 pandas living in the zoo.
