It was this time when the terms vegan and veganism were coined and celebrated. According to Wallis, in all honesty, they know that the event was founded in November 1994 but they couldn’t remember the exact date. Hence, they chose the first of November, intentionally coinciding it with All Saints’ Day wherein feasts are always held in order to strengthen the promotion of veganism in a day wherein people binge eat.
