The candy was called fairy floss during that time.

In 1921, another dentist named Josef Lascaux built a machine that spins candy. He sold the sweet treats to his patients in his office in Louisiana. It is believed that he was the one who coined the term cotton candy.

Though we know some things about the origin and history of cotton candy, the same is not true for National Cotton Candy Day.
